Connect PSP to PC via USB cable

Connect your PSP via a USB Cable

You can directly connect your PSP to your PC with a USB cable - you will need a USB cable with a USB 5-Pin Mini-B connector on one end, and a standard USB PC connector on the other end.

This cable is not normally supplied with the PSP, so if you do not have such a cable, you will need to purchase one.

  1. Connect the mini connector to the top of your PSP and the other end of the cable into a USB slot on your PC. For the best perfornance, connect your PSP to a USB 2.0 slot.
  2. Make sure the PSP is on.
  3. Scroll to the 'Settings' menu by pressing the left arrow on the PSP.
  4. Select 'USB Connection' using the up and down arrows on the control pad.
  5. Press the 'X' button.
  6. Your PC should detect the PSP device, and show it in Explorer as a new drive (for example, 'F:').
